Bohlokong Gets One-Stop Municipal Service Centre

Bohlokong Gets One-Stop Municipal Service Centre

Residents of Bohlokong will no longer have to travel long distances to access essential municipal services following the official opening of the new Batho Pele One-Stop Services Centre by Executive Mayor Tseki Tseki.

The facility, situated at the corner of Manye and Tsoella streets, was officially launched on Friday as part of the municipality’s commitment to bringing government services closer to communities and reducing the financial burden on residents.

Accompanied by MMC for Corporate Services Pedro van Wyk and senior municipal officials, Tseki unveiled the centre, which is now fully operational and ready to serve the people of Bohlokong.

The establishment of the centre fulfils a key commitment made during the Mayor’s Budget Speech and is aimed at improving service delivery by providing residents with easier access to a range of municipal services under one roof.

Speaking at the opening, Tseki said the facility would provide much-needed relief to residents who previously had to travel to other municipal offices for assistance.

“The services provided at the facility include housing enquiries, registration for indigent benefits, SMME support services, issuing of proof of residence and other municipal services,” he said.

Tseki added that the initiative forms part of the municipality’s broader efforts to reduce the cost of accessing services, particularly for vulnerable groups such as elderly residents and people living with disabilities.

“Through this initiative, the municipality is making a concerted effort to ease the burden on residents by bringing services closer to where they live,” he said.

The municipality plans to expand the programme by opening additional Batho Pele One-Stop Service Centres in Fateng Tse Ntsho (Paul Roux) and Mashaeng (Fouriesburg) during the first quarter of the new financial year.

Municipal leaders believe the rollout of the centres will strengthen service delivery and improve access to municipal support across the region.
