WELKOM - A  family in Welkom is left destitute following a devastating fire that broke leaving a mother dead and her child fighting for their life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a hospital in Welkom.

The St Dominic’s school in Welkom is seeking help for the grieving family as they have lost everything they own and one of their high school pupil is affected.

According to a press release issued by the school, the family's belongings are in ashes and any kind of support is needed.

The school has organised a donation drive and is urging people to contribute whatever they can.

“Men’s clothing, women’s clothing, girls’ clothing, household items, and any kind of donations.

“All donations may be dropped off at the High School reception, it states”.
